Has the digital age and greater access to information addressed the exclusion that lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex please (LGBTI) face everyday? B-Change founder Laurindo Garcia explored this issue in his presentation at MCON 2016 last June.
Pervasive stigma and discrimination makes it difficult for LGBTI to access health services, social support, legal assistance, education and employment. Laurindo shared stories that illustrate how LGBTI in Southeast Asia experience difficulty seeking support and safety online. He also shares with the MCON audience B-Change's plans to open up a market for inclusion using a mobile app.
Watch the video and hear Laurindo share the very personal story behind B-Change's mission.
MCON was held in Washington, D.C. at National Geographic Headquarters from June 21-23. B-Change's participation at MCON was made possible thanks to the generous support of Levi Strauss Foundation.
